Me, You, Ol' Buck and Blue

Lord, this time you sent a good one, and I'm wonderin' what to do,
But ol' Buck and I decided, we should go-and take ol' Blue.
Ol' Buck looked up and nickered, and Blue he licked my hand,
As the tree of us rode from the barn, the snow it cut like sand.

The wind lashed out like fire, while whiteness filled the space,
The swirlin' snow stuck to my chaps, and ice blew against my face.
The blizzard in her fury, seemed relentless to let go,
And I pondered fer a moment, 'bout her dealin' us death's blow.

But I had cattle in the open, with babies at their side,
And no matter how I feared her, I knew that  I would ride.
Cuz tho' this cowboy hide is tough, this heart is soft as down,
And my feelin's are some different, than them folks who live in town.

I s' pose they'd think my senseless, to buck a storm as such,
But you realize, sweet maker, that it ain't askin' all that much.
For them cattle they're like family, and Mother Nature's one we fight,
And to leave 'em out there driftin' , it just wouldn't be quite right.

So we'll push 'em into shelter, and pray Lord they're okay,
'Till I can get the team hitched, and fill their bellies full of hay.
Oh, it's a frozen, frigid hell, out here we're travelin' through-
But ol' Buck he knows where home is, and ridin' drag is faithful Blue.

Why Walk?

Should I? I would ponder,
Why not? I didn't balk.
The barn was way off yonder,
A good long way to walk.

To lead this good big filly,
When riding I could be....
The thought seemed downright silly,
Walking simply ain't for me.

Not to brag, but I've got the knack
When it comes to breakin' 'em in.
It's only good sense that I lack,
And vanity's my only sin.

A clumsy leap is all it took,
then on her back I sat,
But all at once she came awake,
Bolting from beneath my hat.

No stopping of this hurricane,
A wild and frenzied affair.
My grip tore loose her flowing mane,
Then my legs just left that mare.

I thought I'd got off easy,
As I floated through the air.
Then the ground come up and met me;
I believed I'd had my share.

I opened my eyes and at a glance,
I knew she wasn't done.
For on my foot she did a dance
And made the point she'd won.

Off to the barn in perfect haste,
She squealed a victory call.
With abandoned pride I gave her chase
As fast as I could crawl.

Now thinking back, my choice would be
Not to mess with unbroke stock.
For I'm no fool, and now I see,
I reckon I should have walked.

What Is My Dream

My big dream is having a ranch for horses, and the another thing is taking my horses to the hospital's to see Kids there. They will get a picture of them with the horses and get the picture:) But the best part of this dream, is having friends can come over and go riding. Here is something I would like to share with you. I have use these in are Trunk or Treat at are church. The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord. I love this, someday I know this is how God made me to be. A girl that loves horses and other animals, but loves the country. I will believe in God. When I do get my ranch I will let you know:) God is so good to us, we have different dreams in life. The name for my ranch is going to called "Julie's Haven", I'm named it after my Guinea Pig Julie. Its going to be a Haven, I will be happy to have a ranch. When I get my horses the song its going be "Wild Horses". Will that's it for now, hope you like "What Is My Dream" post. You and your family have a great day.

How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would
outnumber the grains of sand.
